Roller Disco is a ladder-climbing shedding game with a strong sense of style, unlike pretty much every other game with similar DNA.

As someone who doesn't usually reach for a skirmish game, I went into Doom with a sense of apprehension, hoping that the Doom feel would carry through, and to its credit, it does a really good job of it.

D.O.T is the game I keep thinking about, and the one I keep wanting to go back and play around with a little more.

It's a familiar game, for sure, but I think it's more like a refinement than anything else. It's like making the most amazing sandwich, then someone saying, "You know what, let's see what happens when we add fewer flavours of crisps in this".

The combination of trying to do well in the current round whilst setting things up for the next round is at the heart of Jackpot. And you know what? It's tricky. It's really tricky.

Did you know there are only a few mammals in the world that lay eggs. They're called monotremes. One member of the monotreme family is the short-beaked echidna. Orbit is a game about tourists in space.

I miss the days when worker-placement games kept things simple and relied on solid core game design to tempt the box off your shelf and onto the table. Mutagen gives me that same feeling again, and I like it all the more for it.

Sakana Stack is quick, easy, gorgeous to look at, and a lot of fun. It'll join the likes of Scout and Tokkuri Taking in my convention bag for some time to come.

A big vision, and a really unusual setting and theme which feels exotic and fresh to me.

It's not just fish down there though, there are other things. Horrible things. Unspeakable things.
